The home seems to bring in a bit of the surrounding woodland indoors, with a warm colour palette reminiscent of the 70s, wooden floors, tiny ceramic forest animals and antlers, and even a tiny potted tree.

“This is the very first of 3 residences in rural Upstate New York that emerged from the study of the classic loft like cow barns that populate the landscape of the neighborhood farmland. With glazing on the two extended sides of the structure, the little 1350 square foot interior is literally “in” the landscape. The absolute limits of wood frame construction are realized with no the use of any steel with the lateral stability of the structure facilitated by 4 feet of solid wall only on the intense ends of the creating. Programmatically organized about the social structure of the inhabitants, a single area for living, dining and cooking occupies the center with baths and utilities delivering a buffer and privacy for the two bedrooms that flank the “great” space.
