Pitsou Kedem Architecture, based in Tel Aviv, designed this distinct residence for a family members in Kfar Shmaryahu, Israel. The method of screens serves several purposes in both the function and decor of the residence. When closed the screens lay flush with the surface of the external walls but strategically placed hinges permit them to open in various directions. This pattern of multi-directionally opening screens can be used to generate outdoor rooms and when the screens are opened the house takes on quite distinct exterior dimensions.
